Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts to J-SH: Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities are evaluated by anonymous referees through a double-blind peer review process. The review focuses on the manuscript's contribution, originality, relevance, quality, and scholarly presentation. The initial review results are normally communicated to authors within approximately 2–3 weeks. However, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript, the review process may take up to 2 months.

Review Criteria

Reviewers assess the manuscript primarily from the perspective of the quality and substance of the scholarly work, rather than focusing on grammatical aspects of the manuscript. The evaluation includes the following considerations:

Originality and Freshness
The novelty, originality, and contribution of the manuscript to the relevant field of study.
Usefulness and Relevance
The relevance and potential usefulness of the findings, arguments, or discussions presented in the manuscript.
Validity of References
The validity, relevance, and adequacy of citations and bibliography used to support the manuscript.
Double-Blind Review

Reviewers receive manuscripts in an anonymous format, in which the identities of the authors are not disclosed. Manuscripts are assigned by the Section Editor or Editorial Secretariat to reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the subject of the submission.

If a manuscript falls outside a reviewer's area of expertise, the reviewer has the right to decline the assignment and recommend that the manuscript be evaluated by another reviewer with more appropriate expertise.
